LOOK #9
Coping, Focusing and Doing
Brian Kocourek
Last week we examined pp. 57 -
62 and took note of three points brother Branham was bringing to our attention when he said, "WE
MUST COPE OUR LIVES AND FOCUS IT IN TO THE WORD OF GOD...WE MUST DO OUR LIVES AND THEN SEE HIM AND HIM
ONLY."
1) COPE: To fight or contend with,
to deal with the problem.
To meet as in a
contest; to encounter, to cut so as to fit a pattern; (coping saw).
We examined the scripture and found
out that the Word of GOD not only calls for us to COPE our
lives to the Word, but we also found out how we
can COPE or fit our lives to the scriptural pattern. We all
have area's where we just have not total victory, and instead of confronting
ourselves about it we tend to ignore it hoping it will go away. But the scripture
says "FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT" AND LAY HOLD ON
ETERNAL LIFE" (get the death grip on it like a wrestler
wrestling for his Life like Jacob did. Paul said
in I COR 9: "SO FIGHT I, NOT AS ONE THAT BEATETH THE AIR." So we must give it our best shot, the knockout punch.
2) FOCUS: To adjust in order to
produce a clearer image.
To fix or settle on ONE thing:
Concentrate.
Here we learned how one must begin to learn
how to contend with Himself and face the enemy head on. We are our own worst enemy when it comes
to our growth in the Lord. It's easy
to blame others around us, but that is not being truthful.
The greatest battle ever fought is in our
own mind, on our own battle field of our thinking. We can not blame
others for our failure. So we learned
how the scripture teaches that a man entering a contest or
battle will study his opponent to know his
strengths and weakness, to concentrate on his enemy, to
adjust to the enemies strengths and weakness and then to plan his
strategy around that knowledge. Through the understanding GOD
has given us of HIS PRESENCE here with us in this last
hour, we have come to know ourselves
better than we ever thought we could. Because
"WHEN CHRIST WHO IS OUR LIFE SHALL APPEAR THEN
SHALL WE APPEAR WITH HIM"..., and we had to know or at
least recognize our own unbelief in order for us to become
victorious over it.
3) DO: To perform an action
To carry out; fulfill
To bring to completion; finish
In this third point we found it to be
the necessary agent in which the other two points are
brought to fruition. To COPE, or recognize
where we lack and to FOCUS, or to make the corrective action
or adjustment could not be complete unless the action is performed,
carried out and finished.
Today I would like to pick up at pp.
62B - 64 ( read).
Notice the emphasis here to " LOOK TO ONE
THING, THE VOICE, THE WORD OF GOD THAT SPEAKS TO US. LOOK TO THE
VOICE, " He says. In pp.
64 he says. "BUT FOCUS OUT OF YOU ALL
DOUBT. LOOK ONLY TO THAT WORD."
This is the major problem we all face. We
vacillate between two opinions constantly.
Now remember, the two opinions are not one which
believes the Word and one which does not. But
one that believes all the Word and the other
only part of it. Our down fall is
that somehow we believe some of that Word just doesn't apply
to us. And with that kind of attitude we can not
receive the blessings that God has for us.
JAMES 1:2 - 8. You can't vacillate in your
faith. You've got to be sure. If God said it,
how can you doubt it.
ROMANS 14:22-23 <"BLESSED IS
THE MAN WHO DOES NOT CONDEMN HIMSELF BY WHAT
HE APPROVES. BUT THE MAN WHO HAS DOUBTS
IS CONDEMNED <ALREADY>BECAUSE IT IS NOT DONE IN
FAITH; AND EVERYTHING THAT DOES NOT COME FROM FAITH IS
SIN.">
JOSHUA 1: 5B <AS I WAS WITH MOSES SO WILL
I BE WITH YOU; I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.>...
HEBREWS 13:5 - 6 < KEEP YOUR LIVES FREE FROM
THE LOVE OF MONEY AND BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, BECAUSE
GOD HAS SAID, 'NEVER WILL I LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.' SO WE SAY WITH
CONFIDENCE 'THE LORD IS MY HELPER; I WILL NOT BE AFRAID, WHAT CAN MAN DO TO
ME?">
JOSHUA 1:7 -9 BE STRONG AND VERY COURAGEOUS.
BE CAREFUL TO OBEY ALL THE LAW MY SERVANT MOSES
GAVE YOU; DO NOT TURN FROM IT TO THE RIGHT OR TO THE LEFT, THAT YOU MAY BE
SUCCESSFUL WHEREVER YOU GO. DO NOT LET THIS BOOK OF THE LAW DEPART FROM YOUR
MOUTH; MEDITATE ON IT DAY AND NIGHT, SO THAT YOU
MAY BE CAREFUL TO DO EVERYTHING WRITTEN IN IT. THEN YOU WILL BE
PROSPEROUS AND SUCCESSFUL. HAVE NOT I
COMMANDED YOU? BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. DO NOT BE
TERRIFIED;
DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED, FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL BE WITH YOU
WHEREVER YOU GO."
DEUT 28: 1 - 48
The very same thing that blesses you
will become your curse. The attitude you take to The Word will either
open up the fountain ofall blessings or close shut
that same fountain. You can not halt between two
opinions.
pp. 64
< "BUT FOCUS OUT OF YOU ALL DOUBT. LOOK ONLY TO THAT WORD.">
You've got to doubt your doubts. You can't
look at the circumstances and the
Word of God at the same time. You've got
to either look at one or the other. And why choose the circumstance. Choose
Gods Word and be blessed.
MATTHEW 6: 19 - 34. NIV Notice:
"IF YOUR EYES BE SINGLE," not if you have only one eye,
but if your sight is focused in on one
treasure, not two or more. But if your singleness of
heart is to Focus upon the One True and
Living God, then your purpose in Life will also be one. Don't FOCUS upon anything outside this WORD. Seek ye first the
PP. 65 - 66 (read). He says, "WE SHOULD FOCUS OURSELF DOWN TO SEE
THAT ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD,' Who's WORD CAN NOT FAIL". Then
what does it do for us? It stablishes
us, it stabilizes us. How many want be to more stable
in your walk with God? How many want to take Him
at His Word every time, no matter what the circumstances?
He says, "
YOU KNOW WHERE YOU STAND BECAUSE YOU'VE BEEN ZEROED IN WITH GOD.
YOU SEE YOUR LIFE HITTING THAT TARGET JUST LIKE THOSE
APOSTLES DID. YOU SEE THE SAME RESULTS THEY SEEN. YOU SEE IT OPERATING IN YOU. YOU'RE ZEROED! YOU
KNOW WHERE YOU'RE STANDING. BUT IT ALL DEPENDS
ON WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT!"
There you are. What are we looking
at, the promise or the circumstances.
If you are focused into this Word
then nothing can separate you from the results.
Every Divine Promise of God is yours. Just here for the
asking. But you've got to be zeroed in to the promise.
Pray...............
